Os:
The crew assembled at Hammer Field near Fresno, California in March of 1944. By
the middle of June they were at Harrington on orders from the 70th Replacement
Depot. They began flying
combat missions in late July but did not get enough in to complete a
tour and were sent on DS to Italy as part of the 859th BS in December of
1944. According to the Late Period Log
Robins flew a short crew of five on gas-haul missions in September of 1944. See also the
Gwiazdon crew who followed along with them
for their entire tour, returning to the states in mid-May of 1945.
