Aircraft Menu
B24s The main aircraft used by the group was the B24. The obsolete (at the time) D model was favored by most pilots because of the plexiglass nose which allowed a better view for the bombardier who orchestrated the drops of 'spies and supplies'. This link places the user on a page with FTP links to each B24 associated in some way with the Group, the 406th NLS, or planes used by Balchen's men at Leuchars, Scotland and Metfield, UK.
All Other Aircraft Takes the user to the meta-directory for all aircraft known to have been used by the Group at one time or another. There are a few additional B24 subdirectories as well. Some scans originated at Harrington, others are representative. Below are examples that are viewable WITHOUT jumping into the FTP directory.
