Reporting in to Harrington from Station 238 (2nd CCRC) on 20 September 1944, the crew spent the winter in the doldrums preparing for night bombing missions in the spring of 1945. During the rush to supply Danish and Norwegian Resistance forces in the last month of the war they were brought down by a German Me110 near Larvik, Norway on the night of 20/21 April 1944. After the attack, Marangas could not find his parachute and jumped 'piggyback' with Divine, but a few seconds before hitting the ground he lost his grip and fell to his death, one of the last of the Group to die on foreign soil. Two injured of the crew (Divine and Greenwood) were quickly captured by the Germans, the remainder were found by Norwegians and hidden until war's end. Divine and Greenwood were released by the Germans on 7 May 1945. In 1952 the Norwegians made a film of the incident “Nødlanding” (Emergency landing).
