Bowland/Ladd Crew
The picture above is that of the Ladd crew on 20 August 1944, submitted by Edward Schweitzer. Bowland's daylight crew was broken by losses at North Pickenham prior to that Group's crews coming to Harrington. In an account from the Group Association newsletter Frank Miller explains best how this happened - click here. The crew flew a handful of missions out of Leuchars with Balchen's men then returned to Harrington and flew night bombing missions in the spring of 1945.
